- Storage Ideas:
- OK My shop is small. Not big enough to do much besides woodturning so I have to careful to use the space as efficiently as possible. With that in mind here are some ideas for storing stuff:
- This is the wire rack. Good for storing stuff near the lathe as the wood bits mostly fall through - except for large shavings which must be removed by hand. (Quite easy to do)
- Storing stuff in buckets hanging from the wall works for me. The red tool chest with all the drawers is good for files, chisels, planes, measuring tools and clamps at the bottom.
- Vertical wood storage is a good option if you do not have much wood to store. But watch that it does not fall on you when you have a lot!
- Storage cupboard with sliding doors to keep shavings out and sound in (The dust collector resides inside)
- Closeup of the "broom holder" for my oft used lathe chisels. Next to the lathe rather than behind it so I do not have to reach over the lathe. This device is available at hardware stores and is designed to hold broom handles
- Steel shelves for small bits of wood.
